If you got no sound, then you are missing --enable-faad when you built myth.

As far as performance goes, I don't know if that processor is fast
enough or not.  I am using a  Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
