[mythtv-users] 32 bit Codecs on 64 Bit Fedora Myth Box

Hey Everyone,

I have a 64 bit Fedora Core 8 frontend that I use to watch TV and play
videos. All my packages are from "yum" from Fedora (protected), atrpms,
and freshrpms; except mplayer, which I compiled manually since it seems to
run better and handles 1080p video better when I do that.

However, I've noticed that the 64 bit version of mplayer cant use the 32
bit windows codecs, which means I can't play any of the WMV files I have
encoded for my Xbox 360. I get this when I play them:

Requested audio codec family [wma9dmo] (afm=dmo) not available.
Enable it at compilation.
Requested audio codec family [wmadmo] (afm=dmo) not available.
Enable it at compilation.
Cannot find codec for audio format 0x162.

After reading online, this appears to be a common issue. I've found some
guides for installing 32 bit mplayer in Ubuntu, or for old Fedora Core
versions, but nothing that will work for Fedora Core 8. Anyone out there
able to get these types of videos to play?

Thanks,
Ben
