On my last remote (motorols drc-425), I used codes for a primestar satellite
reciever. I created my own lircd.conf for it. It worked very well for me.
When that remote died, I got a motorola drc 800 and was annoyed to find that
it didn't have the old code that I used. Now I used MCE codes. They seem to
be very prone to interference from reflected evening sunlight shining through
the window. If I'm watching when the sun is low in the evening, keypresses
often don't work.
The key is to find a code that makes the most buttons on your remote work.
