The *reality* is that attaching BitTorrent to MythTV very well may end the
project depending on who takes notice. Creating a DVD backup has hardly the
same stigma attached as attaching BitTorrent distribution options to a media
recorder. No one said anything related to copyright, BitTorrent, and
Television was logical. It is simply the way it is and those that started
this project don't want the topic associated. And the beauty of Open Source
is you can contribute code, no one will stop you, just it won't be
distributed with the core product and it won't be a topic for conversation.
If that still isn't enough, the beauty of Open Source continues and allows
you to distribute your own MythTV code with your new features included.
Best of luck!
Kevin
