And (AFAIK) there's no such law in the UK.  It's still (technically)
illegal to make copies of CDs, DVDs, etc. for any purpose whatsoever.
The authorities involved have said that they won't prosecute anyone
based on making copies for personal use.  There's a few cases like this,
where there aren't explicit exceptions to the law but everyone pretends
they exist (they may well be defined in case law though, which is
generally more flexible).
