[mythtv-users] Need help installing video capture card with no tuner.

Can't really help you here

By none, do you mean you selected (new video grabber) an then selected "no
grabber"?

That's fine.  I gather the frequency table allows you to set specific
frequencies for turners that support this.  You're not using a tuner so
you don't need anything other than "default"

To make things happy, put in a number here, i.e. 4

leave "preset tuner to channel" blank.
For "external change change command" put in /dev/null
This will make it think it can change channels without having to use the
non-existent "tuner"

I think you might need to add a couple channels in "Channel Editor".  If
so just make something up, preferably something that matches what you
actually watch.

Hopefully adding the couple changes above will fool MythTV into working. 
It should also keep if from asking to scan channels.
Eventually you'll want to get either an IR blaster or set up the serial
ports to control your DirecTV STB, this is for DirecTV isn't it?
