It's me again (the developer of MyMote). I want to help you get MyMote
working if you do still want to try it out. I went to gossamer-threads
to see what you had issues with:

I specifically had to add work arounds for the type of issues you were
having for other users, so your problems with connecting to the
database and so on aren't unique. Basically, my reply is still
correct, and it does not just ask about what you've already stated in
your initial post, but if something doesn't seem right to you or you
need some help getting it to work, I would be glad to help in whatever
way is necessary. This also helps me find and fix bugs so others don't
have to suffer. :)

This is a pain, and one that I feel everyone has to decide how to deal
with. I find that MyMote isn't the most versatile live tv remote due
to this lag, but it works rather well for watching recordings. When
you want to sit down and watch a recording, you're going to have to
browse through your recordings with a normal remote anyways. Why not
fire up MyMote, wait about 3 s for it to connect, and then browse and
launch recordings from your iphone or ipod touch? This route doesn't
really cost any time, and I do feel that the recordings screen shows a
lot of the info better than many of the MythTV themes, but that's just
a personal preference. :)
