I've been having the same issue on *one* of my frontends running
Mythbuntu 8.10 (the other works fine). I did the whole delete
asound.conf thing and all and still the only audio that will play is
AC3/DTS/MPEG2, mp3, aac, etc. won't play. This is running Mythbuntu's
version of the 0.21-fixes compiles.

I've tried lots of things to fix it to no avail. I remember it working
initially, and it works on my other PC, so I'm hoping a re-install
from "scratch" on the machine will fix it. But I really wish I could
figure out why it's doing it and just fix that.
