Yeah, I guess I misunderstood that part.  The only reason I was playing 
with the audio sync was that when I ran the transcoded mpg file using 
mplayer, it was way off.  Playing the original recording from within 
MythTV was fine.  Audio and video were synced properly.  Its just that 
when I used 0 for the delay in your script that I saw it off.  So now 
I'm not really sure what I need to do.  I have the theory down now 
(record, transcode to mpg, tell mytharchive to NOT transcode, make DVD), 
its just the audio sync that's suspect now.
