[mythtv-users] How do I auto transcode

This setting sets the default for new recording schedules and has
nothing to do with the issue that is being experienced, which is when
a recording is set to auto-transcode and doesn't.

This did the trick. It would seem if you don't enable this in your
hardware recording profile, it won't allow it to auto-transcode once
you tell a schedule to do so, unless it is specifically set. This
seems like a bad place for this setting, as most people don't adjust
hardware profiles (it just grabs the file off the airwaves and dumps
it to disk... who would have thought there were settings to tweak?)
