Allen,

Could you please clarify? I'm not sure I understand what you've said... 
do you mean when you fast forward at 5x speed or faster that the video 
motion appears to skip several frames at a time (like a fast slideshow), 
instead of being smoothly played at a faster rate? If so, then as I 
understand it, and have experienced, this is the way it is supposed to 
look when fast-forwarding through these compressed videos. It isn't like 
hitting fast-forward on a VCR where everybody on screen appears as 
though they just downed a whole bottle of caffeine pills and everything 
just appears sped up. I could be wrong, but I think at least in some 
cases (like HD) it would take an enormous amount of processor power to 
be able to fast forward through the video butter-smooth at rates like 5x 
and faster, i.e., without skipping frames.
