I might already have two HDMI sources by then, both capable of native
1080p. I feel it's best to leave those two sources (game consoles)
connected to HDMI so I can guarantee 1080p throughout the entire chain.

The TV stuff (Myth) can probably be fine with component 1080i if I can't
convince the TV to do 1080p on component. The Myth box will _only_ do
TV, no DVD, no anything else.
This is based on the fact that the Myth box will receive 480i, 720p and
1080i, but never 1080p. The only thing I'm hesitant about is that I will
have to configure Myth to run at 1080i (which is already something new
to me, but I read it's doable) and then the system will have to display
720p on the 1080i Myth desktop, which will get converted by the TV to
1080p - that sounds like a pretty long processing chain and it might
lead to picture quality loss, but I'm not sure about that.
