Thanks a lot for your kind help and indication.
You are right, there are in fact not good choices for this point.
Now, I also adopted your 2nd suggestion, and now it works well.
Meanwhile, I have another problem:
How to shutdown MythTV from external command from terminal in Linux or
external Java program?
