[mythtv-users] Scan for channels on dish fails, but finds transports

I have a fresh (re)install of Myth 0.20, with a sat pointed at Dish 110'W.
When I do a full scan of the Dish Networks sat, Myth finds all of the
transports - but no channels.    I see this error on screen: (with various
transport ID's)
"timeout scanning transport ID 2046 - no tables"
 
I then try to scan all existing all transports but I see the same errors as
with the full scan:
"timeout scanning transport ID 2046 - no tables"
 
Why can my myth not find the channels?  A similar scan of Bell 91'W works
fine.  I am NOT decrypting the channels (only looking for the free stuff).
Could it be that scanning Dish needs decryption?  (That doesn't make sense
to me).
