[mythtv-users] OT: Need a new HDTV

The only 1080p content that I've heard about (from the HTGuys on the HDTV
podcast) is either BluRay or HD-DVD disk players. Broadcasters use either
1080i (CBS and NBC) or 720p (FOX). (Don't know about cable or others as I
only get OTA and no ABC signal).

The HTGuys also say to look for big price cuts in the existing products in
about June b/c of the ramp up of production of newer 1080p LCD's. Look for
prices of Plasma's to drop a lot and anything that's 'only' 720p. I plan on
picking up a 720p 42" plasma later this year after prices come down some
more. FWIW. YMMV. Check with you physician to see if HD is right for you,
etc.
