[mythtv-users] Recording issues...am I asking for help in the wrong way??

Hey all --

I've asked this question, and others, several times. I haven't received
any responses at all. I'm seeing 150 messages a day on this list, and it
seems that others are getting help with their questions. Surely SOMEone
has had a similar problem?? If there's something obvious I'm missing,
please clue me in as to where to look, and I'll happily look there. Yeah,
I'm a Myth noob, but I've been running Linux for years.

I'm close to getting this system working, but the fact that I can't
actually get a pre-scheduled recording to actually happen is obviously a
huge problem. I'm also having some problems getting mythfilldatabase to
get all of the data for the available channels from Zap2it, but, first
things first.

So, if I can't get any help on this list, could someone refer me to
somewhere I might get some help? I'm already on the pcHDTV forum.

It seems that Myth on my machine can record live TV, or record a show when
manually requested to do so while watching live (the "R" key), but will
not record when directed to do so via the program guide or via MythWeb. I
have scheduled several recordings over the past few days, both with the
analog and digital tuners (pcHDTV 5500 card) - none have been able to
record - it goes through the motions, but there are zero-byte files
present in the recordings directory and error messages in the logs. There
are entries in the list of recorded shows with the program info, but
without a preview image and no file size listed. Here's a recent log dump
(I get similar entries for every failed recording).

Here's a listing of the storage directory. There are two successful
recordings, made on Monday, the 1st. Every one I've tried (via the
Program Guide or MythWeb) since then has failed. The perms on the
directory are mythv.mythtv, 777, as seen below.

I can watch live TV, so it's able to write to this directory.

I'd appreciate it if someone could clue me in as to what's going on...!
