I like my I-O Data LinkPLayer 2 just fine. HD-upscales DVD (with proper
firmware) and network files over component (what I wanted since my older
RPTV doesn't have digital inputs). With my current myth SVN (12306) I can
see lists via uPnP of all music and all recordings, and play content from
them, but access via the genre hierarchy doesn't work properly - this may be
fixed now. The LinkPlayer sits on top of my FE/BE so I don't use it for myth
all that much, the supplied remote isn't super either. I think they are
still a screaming deal at $250 - actually the original LinkPlayer 2 appears
to be now discontinued and maybe out of stock, but there is a new
Viiv-certified version for $280.

Digital Connection has a "Zensonic Z500" that does HD upscaling, direct CIFS
access, uPnP, w/WiFi for about the same price...interesting.
