Share the disks from your backend using NFS
Mount the disks in the same place on all your machines
Set the locations for all your plugins on the frontend to the mounted disks
Plugins (like MythDVD, MythMusic, etc) run on the frontend so they just
need access to the backend storage as a share. The backend will store
locally, of course.
