[mythtv-users] Flaky new Fedora7 MythTV Frontend install

I'm going through the process of upgrading my frontend systems to
Fedora7 (for reasons I won't bother to go in to) and, admittedly, it has
gone very smoothly. Well, so far. I did the first two systems with
relative ease. It is the last frontend I am having troubles with.

I built the one box, then made a dump of the two volumes (root and boot)
once I had it working the way I wanted it to. I then copied the dump
files over to one frontend, backed up the current fc6 install, and
restored the system from the dumps of the other front end. I fired up
the machine (yes, I am leaving a couple of key steps out, but you get
the idea), and it worked right away. Cool.

So, I did this to the remaining frontend in the basement which is the
only one hooked up via DVI-HDMI to our big screen and pumping audio via
optical out. Same process for setting up the box. Viola. It works.
Well, sort of. I can navigate through menus, I can view the gallery,
listen to music with GOOM as the display, but if I elect to watch a
Video or a recorded show, the screen goes black, and my TV acts as if it
lost its input.

The xorg.conf file was copied right from the previous (and working)
install that was under FC6. .xsession-errors has logged:

And the X server is pegged at 99% cpu utilization.

Now, this is the exact same install (with just three modified files
(xorg.conf, asound.conf, and lircd.conf)) on the exact same hardware
(except for the optical audio out).

Is this just me...?
