Couldn't TMS just do a redirect to the new URL? Perhaps just for a "transition 
period"? Obviously it would create some server load, but nothing close to 
what pushing out listings did.

I suppose we could all just put the new IP in our /etc/hosts file as the old 
name, and tell nsswitch.conf to check files before dns, a 
little "non-standard", but it should work, as long as the new system is a 
single static IP. (I think that would be called a "hack").
