Misdirected effort, don't go there.

If sound is working in others apps, take a peek at their setup and identify
what device settings they're using. OSS emulation uses /dev/dsp, /dev mixer
(and friends?). Straight ALSA, a better choice, uses all kinds of groovy
stuff like hw:0 and friends. If you know ALSA's installed and working, then
start with just the basic 'ALSA:default' for audio device, 'default' for
mixer, and it really should just fly ... eventually.
