The new 380 should be enough. At this point I would try reinstalling the 
drivers for your capture card. Make sure the kernel module is getting 
loaded without errors. (dmesg). Try a manual capture and see if it plays 
back in mplayer or xine. Also make sure that you are capturing from the 
input you expect and that the signal is getting to the capture card. If 
reloading everything does not fix the capture issue then its likely that 
your card has also died.
