[mythtv-users] How to get myth DB moved over from dead machine

I've looked through the archives for answers to this, but haven't found anything that nails what I need help with.
My mobo on my myth box died last week and as a result, I obviously didn't get a chance to export the Mythconverge DB so that I could import it onto new HW. I have a new setup now (completely different HW, so I needed to reinstall FC5 from scratch), but I would like to keep all the history from my old Mythconverge DB (from version .19.1). The HDD on my old machine survived (haven't tested yet to be sure), so I can pull the DB files from my dead machine onto my new machine. But I'm not sure exactly how to do this. Also, since version .20 just came out, I want to make sure I avoid overwriting my .19.1 version of the DB.
I'm using Jarod's guide, running FC5. I'm a linux novice, but have managed to install and run mythtv for the last 3+ years, so I can stumble my way through most things.
So here are my two questions:
1. What's the best way to move the version .19 DB over? Can I just copy the data files for mythconverge on my dead box over to my new MySQL install and restart MySQL? Or will that not provide the users and permissions that I need (I've heard these may be stored in the default MySQL DB that gets created upon MySQL install)? Any other (better) suggestions?
2. How should I ensure that installing mythtv-suite via yum won't overwrite my existing .19 DB? Should I go through the install from scratch, and *then* copy over the version .19 DB files, and *then* do an update install of mythtv-suite?
Thanks for any help,
- Leif
