[mythtv-users] mythweather, mythnews not showing any information (my machine is behind a firewall, http_proxy is set, wget and firefox works!)

hi,
i have mythtv installed on a machine that is behind a firewall.
i have set the http_proxy variable, but I am unable to use mythweather
and mythnews. it does not show up any weather information or the
anything on the rss feeds selected.
wget and web-browsing works though.
i am using a fedora core 5 machine..
please help me.
