Setting up a donation account would be a good idea, but when you say  
"pay" as opposed to "donate," then we start to move away from part of  
what makes Open Source Software wonderful: its price. Just so long as  
it's not actively solicited (like a screen popping up every time you  
start MythFrontend) mentioning a donation, I'd have no problem with  
donating.

Anyway, though, I think that's part of what Google's Summer Of Code  
is, where you get paid to write code for a project.
