XvMC unloads *A LOT* of processing. I've got 1080i playing back on an
AthlonXP 1600+ in my bedroom to my old 21" monitor using XvMC, I've
yet to find it hiccup either, and I've watched a few 1080i movies.

oh, and your 512MB or RAM is enough for MythTV =D
