If you have some kind of record of where the original partitions started
and ended, you can try re-creating them with fdisk.  If the data hasn't
been damaged, only the partition table, this will get you going again. 
Use Linux fdisk for this, the DOS FDISK overwrites data when it creates
partitions.

I don't know enough about LVM to know if there's some signature at the
beginning of the partition you could scan for, if you don't know the
start point.  I've done it with Windows partitions but never with LVM.
