I haven't tried .20 yet, but I did enable uPnP on my mythtv box by the
simple expedient of installing twonkyvision, a 15 Euro investment. If
you feed it the right paths it will share your mythvideo videos, your
recorded tv and your music. I was able to access it using a computer
running geexbox, which has client software built in.

uPnP is a very cool technology.

Of course a geexbox will play pretty well any format or codec, because it
is based on mplayer. What codecs/formats will the dsm play? I am
thinking in particular of sharing mythvideo stuff.

uPnP also has specs for a full TV service I think, where the client gets
to choose the channel etc.
