[mythtv-users] PVR-350, TV-out, X problems.

Hi all,
I have some questions and would really appreciate some answers.
I have a fresh Fedora Core 6 install with the latest mythtv and ivtv
stuff from atrpms and freshmeat and I've been following Jarod's
install docs. Right after logging in, I can run the sample command
dd if=/dev/video0 of=/dev/video16 bs=64k and I get video (but no
audio although this isn't my main concern). Before I do the "dd"
test, I can tune the tuner to a certain channel and it will say
"(signal detected)" when I do so. Then, when I try to start X with
the 350's TV-out as a secondary screen, it appears successful. I
can launch an xterm or mythfrontend over the tv-out. My problem is
that after I start X, if I try to tune to a different channel it no
longer says "(signal detected)" and if I try the "dd" test again
it doesn't do anything. If I try "cat /dev/video > somefile.mpg"
then I can't even "kill -9" the cat process. I can't get it to
terminate in anyway. The only way to get rid of it is a reboot.
The only way I get any progress is to use 'option "fbdev" /dev/fb1'
in my xorg.conf. I've seen some sites say to use 'option "ivtv"
/dev/fb1' instead but when I try that I get:
(--) Chipset PVR-350 found
(EE) ivtvHWProvbe failed to do IVTVFB_IOCTL_GET_STATE for device (null)
(EE) Screen 1 deleted because of no matching config section.
Any help greatly appreciated! What files do you want to see
and I'll send them?
Todd
