This is the primary cause of the choppy video. Your system just isn't
powerful enough for HD processing on its own.

ATI has *no* support for hardware acceleration for MPEG2&4 playback, which
is why your CPU is doing all the work.

I think it comes down to either getting a faster processor, or a nvidia
graphics card.
