[mythtv-users] Working SF Bay area channels.conf?

Two questions:
1) Does the feature added in 0.19 to import channels from a
   channels.conf file actually work? I've tried several channels.conf
   files found through searches but none actually seemed to do
   anything.
2) Assuming a positive answer to 1) I'd love to see someone's
   verified-as-working channels.conf for over-the-air broadcasts for
   SF Bay area stations. Here in my downtown San Francisco highrise
   apartment, channel scanning from mythtv-setup gets me KTVU (Fox),
   KBHK (UPN), KRON (Ind), KCSM (PBS), KKPX (i), but no KGO (ABC),
   KNTV (NBC), KPIX (CBS), or KQED (PBS). (I did get KBWB [WB] for a
   few weeks, before suddenly and mysteriously descending into
   horrible static-filled pictures despite no changes whatsoever in
   antenna orientation or software setup.)  I am using a Silver Sensor
   indoor antenna and a HD5000 capture card (the driver for which
   unfortunately doesn't provide a usable signal-strength readout).
