[mythtv-users] Can connect to frontend via telnet, but do not get any response

I just upgraded to 0.19 using apt-get and have everything working except
control of the frontend over telnet. I enabled it in the Setup menu, and
stopped and restarted the frontend. I can telnet to port 6546 and get the
CLI interface, but whenever I enter a command, I get an "OK" return, but
nothing happens on the frontend.

For example:
# jump mythnews
OK
# key down
OK
# jump playbackbox
OK

During all this, the frontend just stays where it's at (currently at the
main menu).

I've got a combined frontend/backend server, and am only running one
frontend on it. I tried exiting that frontend and then telnetting to 6546
- I get a "Connection Refused".

I did notice that when I do a ps, mythfrontend shows up twice - not sure
if this is expected or not:

[root at dvrb1 bin]# ps -alef | grep mythfrontend
0 S mythtv 5733 1 16 76 0 - 50123 stext 20:16 ? 00:00:03
mythfrontend
0 S mythtv 5735 1 16 76 0 - 50164 stext 20:16 ? 00:00:04
mythfrontend
0 R root 5761 5261 0 77 0 - 933 - 20:17 pts/2 00:00:00
grep mythfrontend

Anyway, since this functionality seems to work for others, I was wondering
if anyone had run into this before, or had any ideas on how I should
proceed.

Thanks!
Bryan
