I would hope that Myth would not expire things that I've yet to watch. Even
if it did how will it know that I really want to see the show recorded the
day after I leave in preference to any other recording?

This, of course, wouldn't happen if things were set to auto-expire.
There shouldn't be many situations where a box should run out of space
unless you have set nothing to expire which is probably a bad idea if
you are in a low disk situation.
