Users should not have choice? Ironically, I switched to linux for the
purpose of having more choice as a user. However, I can understand your
point that more choices involves more potential for mistakes which then
involves the time and energy of the mythtv community (I also understand
that mythtv is not linux, but I still find this ironic).

Because whoever is watching television should interrupt the show they
are watching? Because anyone watching livetv in my house should know to
do this? Maybe I can put a timer on top of the television with a note.
A little sarcastic (and probably a little over the top), sorry, but I do
not appreciate it when someone talks down to me. Yes, I know that you
have suggested this before, but I dismissed it then (well, in my head,
anyway) as I am now, because you are suggesting that I do something that
will become highly irritating within a short period of time, will
negatively impact the WAF, and I cannot guarantee that this will be done
by everyone watching television in my house.

The existence of this thread indicates otherwise. I also have a problem
with the new "feature." I need livetv to operate without crashing
within about 4 GBs. Do I expect mythtv developers to "fix" this. Not
necessarily, as it is not necessarily something that needs to be fixed.
If it does not fit with the direction of mythtv, then it does not fit,
and I will find a workaround, stick where I am at with 0.18, or look for
an alternative. I am also not going to be silent just because I have an
opinion that is different than yours.

I would whole-heartedly agree that knee-jerking 'fixes' generally
results in the need for more fixes or more knee-jerking at least.
Hopefully, storage groups will makes this a non-issue.
