Under the old way of doing things, the LiveTV would never have taken more room than the ringbuffer size, and thus would not have caused any shows to be autoexpired. Under the new way, it will cause shows to be autoexpired. Thus this poster does have a valid concern. However, it looks like his circumstances are probably far outside that of the normal user (most of whom probably don't even add the music channels to their guide listings). For the average user, the change would probably only make a difference of a single show being autoexpired that wouldn't have been under the old way of doing things. For this user, it can make up to a day's worth of programs difference.

And none of the suggestions here would fix that because even if you set
the autoexpire threshold to be zero or expire on delete, the fact is
that the show is still in progress and will not be expired. You cannot
delete something that is being used. In fact, the system as it stands,
would delete that 20GB file as soon as the next program started but
nothing can change the fact that without guide divisions on the music
channels, a LiveTV session will grow until stopped because it is a
recording. This has *nothing* to do with auto expiration.
