Ladies and gents if you have a look at the mythtv wiki user manual daily
use section, it explains the xv issue
also if you run mythtv in a window, then you can use kde ksnapshot.
Thats how I did all of the screen shots on the wiki
I then load them upto flickr which produces various sizes for me
automagically and I then pick the size that best suites my needs.
