Thanks for the hint. I tried it, but it does not work on the MPEG2 PS 
streams from ivtv.

I the meantime, I found out, that if I load the corrupt file into 
avidemux and just save, then it's OK.

Is the author of the MPEG2 transcoding stuff reading here? Shall I open 
a trac ticket?
