it was still /tmp, could of sworn I had changed it...

Changed it again and trying burning another DVD...

the only use I've had for the DVD drive so far is with MythArchive (did burn one set of mpegs to make sure that Linux was talking to it correctly) so I'm not certain why mtd is trying to access it.

one thing that is happening, episodes are not getting transcoded or commercial flagged. Had thought mtd was responsible for controlling the transcode process, and guessed that the two were linked, perhaps not...

I may have multiple simultaneous problems (guess I'm being too good of a tester at home as well as at work). Time for some more research...
