You can name tuners in mythtv-setup.  Input Connections, and then "Display
Name (Optional)" - the display name shows up when you first use the tuner.
 The changes made downstairs would only apply to the tuner that they are
watching... If they're watching the same channel, the backend will use two
tuners, one for each viewer. (I'm pretty sure on that, anyway..)
