[mythtv-users] is mythtv smart enough to do this(overlap/back-to-back) with recordings?

I already have 120 seconds of soft padding set, but I'm specifically
talking about back-to-back programs on the same channel so soft padding
doesn't apply. I haven't done a scientific test, but the recycle time
on my tuners seems to be about 10 seconds from the last instant of the
previous program recorded to the first instant of the next program
recorded. I know it was enough to completely lose the denouement of two
hour mystery movie the first time it happened: That was quite
sufficient for me to want it to never happen again. If I was inclined
to try to second guess, I would probably set TCM to end and start one
minute late, and SciFi to end and start one minute early. But I don't,
instead I set 2 minutes of hard padding on each end (4 minutes total
overlap) and accept that some of the programs are going to be poorer
quality visually than others.
