Can you log in as a different user? If yes then just delete your
~/.kde3.5 directory and ~/.kde link. I've gotten around kde problems
this way several times. Of course this will remove any
customizations/preferences but at this point they aren't worth much.
You can also just move the .kde3.5 somewere else in case you need to
rescue something.
