Commercial cutting based on a cutlist.

2) ffmpeg

Above two for reprocessing the stream in a format that dvdauthor
understands.

4) dvdauthor


Mastering the DVD image.

5) growisofs


Do the actual burning onto the DVD media.

Why are all these programs necessary?  What do they do?
