I have a running system since two years. I upgraded since february several new kernels, ivtv and mythtv, to fix a problem that I can not use s-video out.
Around April I noticed when mythfrontend was not used for more than two hours I need to repeatedly press a key to wake it up. Afterwards everything works great. No errors in dmesg.
When I start irw parallel it notices all key presses, the already running programs miss the keys.
Restarting the frontend/irexec the first key pressed is recognized.
So this leaves out ivtv as the problem.
Also my system does not swap.

I went back to all kernels, lirc and ivtv packages I had in my yum cache, since february. The problem is reproducable in all of them.
Today I upgraded to 2.6.17-1.2142. So I let you know if it fixed the problem.
Mario
