Only if you think of MythTV like your old VCR where you had to say, 
"Record from this time to that time."

MythTV is a PVR--with guide listings.  Myth remembers whether it's 
recorded a show before, so if you use record at any time on any channel 
(or on this channel) /and/ set an appropriate duplicate-matching policy, 
it won't record the same episode twice.
