while and let it run til it's finished. Then fire up mythbackend,
don't daemonize it or anything, run it straight from a command prompt.
Fire up a second terminal and launch mythfrontend, again, let the
data scroll out in the command prompt (gives you some feedback for
troubleshooting).

Don't go to Watch TV, instead go to Setup, and re-configure everything
related to TV. Recording Profiles should be setup, I go into General
and make sure all my settings are just how I want. Once you done
tinkering back then, go back and choose Watch TV or setup a small
manual recording (2 or 3 minutes) come back when it's done and try to
play it back. Then play with Live TV from there.

Troubleshooting
--------------------------
If you cannot see an image, you very likely don't have the correct
TUNER options set from modprobe. I narrow the list down to only NTSC
tuners (I live in the US) and then try each one, one at a time:
rmmod bttv
modprobe bttv tuner=3D1
Check with tv-time, anything? No, then:
rmmod bttv
modprobe bttv tuner=3D2
Check with tv-time... And so on. It's likely you'll eventually get a
picture.

Audio may not work. Check that you actually have the cable running
from the tuner card's audio out (there might also be audio in) to the
Line-In OR mic-in on the audio card. Then, launch alsamixer and tweak
your recording settings (alsamixer, then hit F4 and F3 to toggle
capture/playback settings) until you get audio.

Good Luck!

Chad
