I think you're correct. At least with music you can burn a CD with  
iTunes and then re-import it in and it will be DRM-free. I don't know  
of any equivalent process with video.

What we need is the video equivalent of "Audio HiJack Pro" for the Mac.

I'm sure somebody will hack this soon, but it will be illegal due to  
the DMCA (in the US anyway).
