[mythtv-users] only left speakers for tv recordings

I've had a relatively stable mythtv setup for a little over a year.  I'm 
not sure what happened recently, but now, when watching recordings or 
live tv, I only get the left channel of audio.  I have a 5.1 setup, and 
I only hear sound out of the front-left, front-right, and center 
speakers.  However, if I play the exact same file with mplayer, I get 
sound out of all speakers.  The only difference I've discovered is that 
when  I play it with mplayer I can adjust volume using the WAV slider, 
but in mythtv I must adjust it with the PCM slider.  Also, playing 
music, DVDs, or video files works just fine.

Does anyone have a suggestion?
