Not sure if I've *solved* the issue, but going to ALSA 1.0.11-rc3 did get me
sound with both my pvr350 and my HD3000. Mind you, I'm having other issues
now (XvMC acting weird where it didn't before, blah blah blah), but that
part is "fixed".
