Well, my installation is just the normal 0.18.1 from an Ubuntu
repository.

Who said anything about the same encoder card? I didn't. They're
each using a different PVR-250, of which the backend has 5.

Wouldn't that only be true if they were in different -lineups-? I
thought the first digit was the lineup-ID, not which tuner got picked.
Certainly, all of my recordings from this lineup, no matter what tuner
was used, start with a 1.
I -do- have another lineup (which comes from a digital cable box into
the component-in of one of the 250's [when it's using RF, it's "tuner
5" in my setup, e.g., /dev/video5], and -those- recordings start with
a 2.
