This is covered in the HOWTO. There are no consumer-level hardware devices that will capture the 720p, 1080i or 1080p output of a set top box. Doesn't matter if that output is HDMI, DVI, VGA, YPbPr, etc. The pieces of equipment that _can_ do this sort of thing are all sitting at your TV station / cable head-end, etc.
